Zee Entertainment Enterprises has said it has already provided the information sought by the Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA) and will furnish further information and explanations as requested by the ministry in connection with its ongoing inspection.
“The Company has received a notice from the Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA) on October 5, 2026 under Section 210(1)(a) & (c) of the Companies Act, 2013 seeking certain information about the Company, in continuation to the ongoing inspection under Section 206(5) of the Companies Act, 2013,” Zee Entertainment said in the disclosure.
The notice has been issued by the Office of the Regional Director, Western Region-II, Ministry of Corporate Affairs, in Mumbai.
The company has described the details of the alleged violation or contravention as “Calling for information.” It has also stated that the financial, operational or other impact on the company, quantifiable in monetary terms, is not applicable.
The filing does not specify the subject matter of the information sought by the MCA or allege any particular violation by Zee Entertainment. The company’s disclosure instead indicates that the regulatory process is continuing and that it is cooperating by furnishing information and explanations sought by the authorities.
Section 210 of the Companies Act provides the statutory framework for investigation of the affairs of a company by the Central Government in specified circumstances. The latest notice to Zee Entertainment has been issued under clauses (a) and (c) of section 210(1).
The disclosure follows an ongoing inspection under section 206(5), which empowers the Central Government to direct an inspection of a company’s books and papers in circumstances covered by the provision.
At this stage, the company has not disclosed any financial impact arising from the MCA notice. The filing also does not indicate that the company has been found to have committed any contravention.
